to talk to your doctor about ways to prevent cervical cancer

A NOTE FROM THE CANCER RESEARCH AND PREVENTION FOUNDATION

Carolyn R. Aldigé Carolyn R. Aldigé
President and Founder, Cancer Research Prevention and Foundation

This January during National Cervical Cancer Awareness month, make the commitment to help prevent cervical cancer. Do what you can – talk to your doctor about ways to prevent this disease, including getting regular screenings, and help your loved ones – friends, sisters, daughters and others – to get the facts and act on them.

Cervical cancer is caused by certain types of human papillomavirus, or HPV . But women need to realize that cervical cancer may be preventable through screenings and other measures.

So do something positive for your health today. Make the commitment, and learn more about cervical cancer and HPV.

A NOTE FROM STEP UP WOMEN’S NETWORK

Whether you’re just learning about cervical cancer and its cause – the human papillomavirus (HPV) – or if you’ve known about it for years, I encourage you to make the commitment to talk with your doctor about cervical cancer prevention during National Cervical Cancer Awareness Month.

Women need to know that cervical cancer may be preventable through regular screenings and other measures. Regular screening is an effective tool you can use to reduce your risk of cervical cancer, and by talking with other women, you can educate them so they can protect themselves, too.

I’m happy to have learned more about cervical cancer and now to be able to share this knowledge with other women. Please join me. Make the commitment today.
