Make the Connection to support cervical cancer awareness

Make the Connection between cervical cancer and human papillomavirus (HPV)

In 2005, the Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation (CRPF) and Step Up Women’s Network, with funding from Merck & Co., Inc., created Make the Connection, a public education campaign that sought to raise awareness and understanding of the connection between cervical cancer and human papillomavirus (HPV) - a common virus that causes this devastating disease. The campaign provided tools and facts to encourage women to make the connection with healthcare professionals, friends, daughters, sisters, mothers and other loved ones to share knowledge, get regular screenings and make healthy choices, and inspire each other to beat cervical cancer and protect their health and lives.

The campaign was supported by several well-known entertainers and personalities.  Make the Connection is extremely grateful for their contributions and support.  Additional information about this campaign can be found by clicking on Events and Campaign Voices.
